The Cummins Westport/8.9 l low NOx natural gas engine has been approved for inclusion in HVIP. Dealers of low NOx natural gas engines are currently completing the application process and we hope to have engines ready for purchase via these dealers soon.

E-Truck and Bus Voucher Amounts
The base voucher amount for electric trucks and buses are dependent on the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicles, and id the vehicle is garaged in a disadvantaged communities. The range of incentive amounts per voucher for e-trucks and buses are between $20,000 and $110,000. Additional incentive funding can be also added in for specific technology categories.
First-time fleet or vehicle owner participants can also receive up to $10,000 in additional funding for their first three voucher requests.

Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Amounts
The base voucher amounts for hybrid trucks and buses are dependent on the number of vehicles purchased and gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicles. The range of the voucher amounts for hybrid truck and buses is between $8,000 and $30,000 for purchases of less than 100 vehicles.
First-time participants can also receive up to $10,000 in additional funding for their first three voucher requests.

HVIP Adds Funds to Voucher Amounts
Additional funds are available for individual vouchers beyond the first-time “first three” mentioned above. The additional funds are available for the following:
- Plug-In or Hydraulic Hybrid Vehicles
- Hybrid or Zero-Emission School Buses
- ARB-Certified Hybrid Vehicles
- Battery-Electric Fast-Charging or Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicles
- Aerial Boom w/ePTO Vehicles that are not Hybrids
- Manufacturer-provided Extended Warranties
- Early-OBD Compliance by Hybrid Vehicles
