FUNDING DEFINITIONS

About HVIP's Multiple Funding Sources
Funding for Year 4 of the HVIP is provided by The California Air Resources Board (ARB). The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) had funded the SJVAPCD HVIP Plus-up Project, which added voucher funds up to $30,000 on top of existing ARB HVIP vouchers.  However, these voucher funds have now been fully subscribed and are no longer available.  Additional sources may contribute to the funds in the future.

When a funding pot reaches zero or less, you will see a minus sign in front of the amount. For example, FY14 ARB -$275,598 means that the Fiscal Year 2012 ARB Fund  (Year 4 of the HVIP) is $275,598 under zero. However, as long as voucher requests are being accepted, vouchers may still be available. A first-come, first-served wait list will be made available for Dealers requesting vouchers.

Please note that vouchers requested from various funding sources may have specific requirements. To understand these requirements, please carefully read the Terms & Conditions for voucher request and redemption, or refer to the HVIP Implementation Manual. If you have additional questions, please read the Frequently Asked Questions section of this site, or call 888-457-HVIP.

About California Air Resources Board (ARB) Funding
ARB's HVIP program was launched in February 2010, with about $19.4 million available for eligible hybrid vehicles that operate within California. In 2011, ARB renewed its funding commitment with an additional $18 million and expanded the program to include electric vehicles. In 2012, ARB added a third year to the program for another $10+ million, and now in 2014, the ARB has added a fourth year of the program with a starting pot of $9.35 million.

To see which vehicles qualify, please visit the Eligible Vehicles section of this site.
